As the former co-owner and publisher of Back Home In Kentucky magazine Ms. Rose edited the hard-cover book, Kentucky’s Civil War 1861-1865. She is also an accomplished artist and photographer.
Ms. Rose is an active member of several local organizations including Kentucky Entrepreneurs’ Alliance (board member), the Clay City Lions Club, the Red River Valley Chaper of Daughters of the American Revolution, the Red River Historical Society (board member), he Clay City-Eaton Cemetery Association (director), and the Clay City United Methodist Church.
Janice Lee Odom is the General Manager for Parkway Publications, LLC, including FOCUS Magazine, Kentucky Festivals & Events, and Tennessee Festivals & Events. She is also Acquisitions Editor for Read Writers Publishing.
Ms. Odom is Chair of the Kentucky Entrepreneurs’ Alliance. She was an honor student at the University of Indianapolis and two-time winner of the Leila Anderson Award for Exemplifying Christian Character. She won the Major John J. Dillon English Award and was inducted the International English Honor Society, Sigma Tau Delta, and the National Historical Honor Society, Phi Alpha Theta.
She is host of the radio show “Featuring the Arts” and co-host of the “Moore Country Countdown” on WSKV 104.9FM streaming at www.wskvfm.com. (The station owners are Mary and A.C. Moore).
David J. Griffin is the Co-Editor of FOCUS Magazine and author of “View from the Mountain, An Eastern Kentucky boy comes of age in the 50s: Tales of kin, cars, and cruisin.'” A native of Rockcastle County, Mr. Griffin received his BS degree from Campbellsville University(1965), an MA (1984) from the University of Kentucky. He taught high school chemistry, biology and journalism for 38 years at three Kentucky schools: Campbellsville High, Mt. Sterling High and George Rogers High (Winchester). Brandon Farmer is college student and freelance writer for FOCUS Magazine.
